01 — Our commitments
Explainable by design
Every score is delivered with its reasoning — signal by signal, in language an auditor can follow. A decision we can’t explain is a decision we don’t ship.
A full audit trail
Every check, every version, every score — logged and reproducible, so a decision can be defended months later, not just at the moment it was made.
Data-minimal, always
We process what verification requires and nothing more. Documents are encrypted in transit and at rest, access-logged, and never sold or shared.
Accessible by commitment
WCAG 2.2 AA on the score-and-explanation interface, verified per criterion with a documented audit — a formal commitment, not a checkbox.
02 — In plain language
Is Nio available today?
No. Nio is currently in development and not yet available. This site describes what we are building and the published research behind it — early-access conversations are welcome.
Will Nio decide who gets financed?
No. Nio is designed to score documents and explain the score. Business decisions — approve, review, decline — stay with your team and your policy.
Will a high score mean fraud?
No. It will mean the document deserves human attention, with the explanation saying exactly why. Plenty of legitimate documents carry unusual signals — that’s precisely why explanation matters.
What will happen to documents sent for verification?
By design: processed for verification only, encrypted in transit and at rest, handled under a data-processing agreement, with the minimum data needed to do the job.
Will past decisions be auditable?
Yes — that’s a design requirement. Every score is to be reproducible: the signals, the reasoning and the version that produced them, logged per document.
Do you publish accuracy numbers?
Not yet — deliberately. We commit to measuring detection and false-positive rates on real flows and publishing measured figures. Until then, no number appears on this site.
03 — Accessibility
A risk decision every reviewer can read. We have committed to WCAG 2.2 AA on the interface that displays the risk score and the decision explanation — verified per criterion, with a documented audit. Not asserted. Verified.
This site follows the same standard as a matter of course: keyboard navigation, visible focus states, AA contrast, semantic structure, and no meaning carried by colour alone.
